Malicious code in colorpicker-ui (npm)
0

The npm package colorpicker-ui versions 1.2.4, 1.2.5, and 1.2.6 contains malicious code in its postinstall script. This script steals sensitive credentials and system information, including Kubernetes service-account tokens, AWS instance metadata, and local system files. It then writes this data into files designed to be auto-imported by AI coding-agent sandbox workspaces, enabling arbitrary code execution and exfiltration of secrets. The package's advertised color-picker functionality is a cover for this malicious behavior.
