Malicious code in db-rake (npm)
0

The db-rake npm package versions 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 contain malicious code that silently installs and executes an attacker-controlled package named db-dx-connector. This secondary package is fetched dynamically without user awareness or logging, enabling arbitrary code execution within the consumer's environment. The malicious behavior is deliberately obfuscated and designed as a dropper, posing a severe risk of full system compromise. Removal of db-rake alone may not eliminate all malicious artifacts, and secret keys on affected systems should be rotated immediately.
