MAL-2026-6571: Malicious code in react-wp-viewer (npm) 0 The react-wp-viewer npm package versions 0.2.4, 0.2.15, and 0.2.99 contain malicious code designed as a dependency-confusion proof-of-concept. During installation, a postinstall hook makes an HTTP request to an attacker-controlled IP address, sending information about the package and the installer's environment. This behavior can disclose sensitive reconnaissance data such as the installer's source IP and network position. No credentials are directly stolen, but the package name is squatted to intercept internal package resolution, enabling attacker reconnaissance.
