MAL-2026-6575: Malicious code in @ibrahim1337/baksen (npm)
0

The npm package @ibrahim1337/baksen (versions 1.5.0, 2.0.0, 2.0.1, and 2.0.3) is a malicious Windows x64 browser credential stealer. It targets Chromium-based browsers by terminating their processes, extracting encrypted keys, bypassing App-Bound Encryption via a native Windows addon, and decrypting stored cookies and saved passwords. The stolen credentials are saved locally in cleartext. The package is obfuscated and lacks legitimate metadata, indicating its purpose as a credential theft toolkit. Installing and running this package on Windows results in theft of browser session tokens and saved passwords.
