MAL-2026-6755: Malicious code in paperclip2 (npm) 0 The npm package paperclip2 version 1.0.0 contains malicious code that executes during installation. Specifically, its postinstall script runs a Node.js command that opens a TCP connection to a remote IP and spawns a shell, effectively giving the remote operator arbitrary code execution on the installer's machine. The package provides no legitimate functionality beyond this reverse shell. Any environment running 'npm install paperclip2' version 1.0.0 is compromised with the privileges of the invoking user.
