MAL-2026-6757: Malicious code in vps-maintenance-paperclip-adapter (npm) 0 The npm package 'vps-maintenance-paperclip-adapter' version 0.1.2 contains malicious code that executes a reverse shell during installation. Specifically, its postinstall script runs a node command that opens a TCP connection to a hardcoded IP address and port, providing the remote operator with an interactive shell on the installer's host. This behavior enables arbitrary command execution, credential theft, and persistence. The package's intended functionality does not require such outbound connections, confirming the presence of a backdoor.
