Suricata versions prior to 7.0.16 and 8.0.5 have a vulnerability in the HTTP/2 decompression path where the decompressed response-body buffer can grow without an effective upper bound. This can lead to excessive memory allocation when processing crafted HTTP/2 DATA payloads with high compression ratios such as gzip, deflate, or brotli. The issue is fixed in versions 7.0.16 and 8.0.5. A workaround is to disable HTTP/2 processing. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 09/10/2026, 15:17:00 UTC Added: 10/17/2026, 22:27:33 UTC |
