UBUNTU-CVE-2026-59691CVE-2026-59691 0 A heap buffer overflow vulnerability exists in GStreamer's rfbsrc plugin when connecting to a malicious RFB/VNC server advertising a 16bpp framebuffer and sending Hextile-encoded updates. The vulnerability arises because the Hextile background fill path writes 32-bit pixel values into a buffer allocated for 16-bit pixels, causing an out-of-bounds heap write. This can lead to denial of service via process crash and potential memory corruption. Join the discussion | GCVE Database | 07/09/2026, 11:16:00 UTC Added: 07/16/2026, 10:37:13 UTC |
