A patch is available in pyasn1 version 0.2.2_10. Users should upgrade to this fixed version to remediate the vulnerability. The vendor advisory recommends adding limits to the allowed bytes in the decoder to prevent memory exhaustion. No other specific mitigations are indicated.
Description
A denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerability exists in pyasn1 version 0.6.1 due to improper handling of malformed RELATIVE-OID values with excessive continuation octets during decoding. This can lead to memory exhaustion and cause affected systems to hang or stop services. The issue affects applications that decode ASN.1 data, such as LDAP servers, TLS/SSL endpoints, and OCSP responders. A fix is available in pyasn1 version 0.2.2_10.
