AI-suggested

Upgrade pyasn1 to version 0.2.2_15 or later, where the vulnerability is fixed with linear-time arc accumulation. As a workaround, limit the size of untrusted ASN.1 input before decoding to reduce risk.

Description

A vulnerability in pyasn1's BER/CER/DER decoders and encoders causes quadratic time complexity when processing OBJECT IDENTIFIER and RELATIVE-OID values with many arcs. This can lead to denial of service by consuming excessive CPU resources when decoding or encoding crafted ASN.1 data. The issue affects applications that handle untrusted ASN.1 inputs such as certificates, LDAP, SNMP, and Kerberos. The flaw is fixed in pyasn1 version 0.2.2_15.
