What to do
AI-suggested
A fix is available and has been applied to the Linux kernel source to call ionic_lif_unregister() on register_netdev() failure. Users should update their Linux kernel to a version that includes this fix to prevent the resource leak. No additional mitigation steps are required.
Description
A vulnerability in the Linux kernel's ionic driver causes a resource leak when register_netdev() fails. Specifically, the netdev notifier is not unregistered properly, leading to a leak. This issue has been fixed by ensuring ionic_lif_unregister() is called on failure, which also unregisters the PHC if registered.
