Description

The Your Simple SVG Support plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to Stored Cross-Site Scripting via SVG File uploads in all versions up to, and including, 1.0.1 due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. This makes it possible for authenticated attackers, with Author-level access and above, to inject arbitrary web scripts in pages that will execute whenever a user accesses the SVG file.

Impact

An attacker with Author-level or higher privileges can upload crafted SVG files containing malicious scripts. These scripts execute in the browsers of users who view the SVG files, potentially leading to unauthorized actions or data exposure within the context of the affected WordPress site. The vulnerability does not impact availability. There are no known exploits in the wild at this time.
