A fix is available in the Linux kernel source code as indicated by the fixed commit hashes. Users should update to a Linux kernel version that includes these fixes or apply the relevant patches. No additional mitigation is required as the issue is resolved by the official fix.
Description
A memory leak vulnerability was identified and fixed in the Linux kernel's ice driver related to eswitch code during the reset scenario. The issue involved memory allocated for VF port representors not being freed in legacy mode, causing unreferenced memory objects. This was triggered during VF detach/attach procedures in reset flows. The fix adds a mode check to allocate memory only in switchdev mode, preventing leaks in legacy mode.
