Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: TP-Link Systems Inc.
Product: Tapo C325WB v2

Description

TP-Link Tapo C325WB v2 has an unauthenticated authorization bypass vulnerability in its HTTPS JSON API on TCP port 443. This flaw allows an attacker on the adjacent network to bypass session verification by appending an onboarding-scoped object to JSON requests, enabling privileged actions without authentication. Exploitation can lead to unauthorized access to live video and audio streams, modification of device settings, and exposure of sensitive device information.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-105672 is an improper authentication vulnerability (CWE-287) affecting TP-Link Tapo C325WB v2. The issue exists in the HTTPS JSON API dispatcher on TCP port 443, where an attacker on the adjacent network can append an onboarding-scoped object to a JSON request to bypass session verification. This bypass enables invocation of privileged actions without authentication, potentially granting access to live video/audio feeds, device settings modification, and sensitive information disclosure.

Potential Impact

An unauthenticated attacker on the adjacent network can bypass authentication controls to perform privileged actions on the device. This includes accessing live video and audio streams, changing device configurations, and obtaining sensitive device secrets, which compromises device confidentiality and integrity.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided in the available data. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, restrict network access to the device from untrusted adjacent networks to mitigate exploitation risk.
