Description

CVE-2026-105673 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability in the RTSP streaming service of TP-Link Tapo C325WB v2 cameras when the Camera Account feature is enabled. An unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network can send crafted RTSP-over-HTTP tunneling requests to cause memory corruption and crash the streaming daemon. This results in a denial-of-service condition disrupting live video streaming until the service recovers or restarts.

Technical Analysis

This vulnerability (CWE-121) affects the RTSP streaming service on TCP port 554 of TP-Link Tapo C325WB v2 devices with the Camera Account feature enabled. By sending a specially crafted pair of RTSP-over-HTTP tunneling requests, an unauthenticated attacker on an adjacent network can trigger a stack-based buffer overflow that corrupts memory and causes the streaming daemon to crash. The impact is a denial-of-service disrupting live video and streaming functions until recovery or restart of the service.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation leads to denial-of-service by crashing the streaming daemon, disrupting live video and related streaming functions. The attacker requires no authentication but must be on an adjacent network. The service recovers or restarts after the crash, so the disruption is temporary.

Mitigation Recommendations

No patch or official fix information is provided. Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance. Until a fix is available, consider disabling the Camera Account feature or restricting access to TCP port 554 to trusted networks to reduce exposure.
