CVE-2026-106110: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write in SixLabors ImageSharp
Description
A high-severity out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in SixLabors ImageSharp versions 2.0.0 up to but not including 4.1.2. The flaw occurs in the TIFF CCITT Group 3 encoder, which allocates an undersized buffer for compressed data in narrow 1-bit images. This leads to unchecked memory writes during compression, potentially corrupting process memory and causing a crash. The issue is fixed in version 4.1.2.

Technical Analysis
ImageSharp is a 2D graphics library. From versions 2.0.0 until 4.1.2, the TIFF CCITT Group 3 encoder allocates an undersized compressed-data buffer for narrow 1-bit images. Specifically, TiffCcittCompressor.Initialize does not reserve enough space for row data and T4 end-of-line codes, causing T4BitCompressor.CompressStrip to perform unchecked writes when TiffCompression.CcittGroup3Fax is selected directly or inherited from TIFF metadata. This out-of-bounds write can corrupt process memory and terminate the process. The vulnerability is fixed in version 4.1.2.
Potential Impact
An attacker who can control the encode or decode-and-re-encode flow can trigger an out-of-bounds write, leading to process memory corruption and application termination (denial of service). There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact beyond availability. No known exploits in the wild have been reported.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to ImageSharp version 4.1.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor.
