CVE-2026-106115: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write in SixLabors ImageSharp
Description
CVE-2026-106115 is a high-severity out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the SixLabors ImageSharp 2D graphics library. The flaw exists in the TIFF CCITT Group 4 encoder from versions 2.1.0 up to but not including 4.1.2. The encoder allocates insufficient buffer space for encoded row data, allowing unchecked writes beyond allocated memory. This can lead to memory corruption and process termination. The issue is fixed in version 4.1.2.

Technical Analysis
ImageSharp versions 2.1.0 through 4.1.1 contain an out-of-bounds write vulnerability in the TIFF CCITT Group 4 encoder. The encoder allocates Width times rowsPerStrip bytes, but the T6BitCompressor.CompressStrip method can produce encoded data plus two 12-bit end-of-facsimile-block codes that exceed this allocation. The TiffCcittCompressor.WriteCode function performs unchecked writes, which can cause memory corruption when processing attacker-controlled input during a decode-and-re-encode operation involving TiffCompression.CcittGroup4Fax and one-bit metadata. This vulnerability is resolved in ImageSharp version 4.1.2.
Potential Impact
Exploitation of this vulnerability can cause memory corruption leading to application crashes or process termination. There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact, but availability is affected due to potential denial of service. No known exploits are reported in the wild at this time.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to ImageSharp version 4.1.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated by the vendor advisory.
