CVE-2026-106113: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write in SixLabors ImageSharp
Description
CVE-2026-106113 is a high-severity vulnerability in SixLabors ImageSharp, a 2D graphics library. Versions from 2.0.0 up to but not including 4.1.2 are affected. The flaw occurs when decoding a specially crafted 32-bit floating-point TIFF image as Image<HalfVector4> and applying HistogramEqualization, which can cause an out-of-bounds write in the ColorNumerics.GetBT709Luminance function. This leads to unsafe memory access and process termination. The issue does not affect Adaptive Histogram Equalization or AutoLevel features. The vulnerability is fixed in version 4.1.2.

Technical Analysis
ImageSharp versions >=2.0.0 and <4.1.2 contain an out-of-bounds write vulnerability (CWE-787) triggered by decoding attacker-supplied 32-bit floating-point TIFF images as Image<HalfVector4> and applying HistogramEqualization. The flaw arises because the luminance value computed in ColorNumerics.GetBT709Luminance can be non-finite or out-of-range, which is then used unchecked as a histogram offset in GrayscaleLevelsRowOperation.Invoke. This unsafe access causes process termination. The vulnerability is resolved in ImageSharp 4.1.2.
Potential Impact
Successful exploitation leads to an out-of-bounds write causing process termination (denial of service). There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact. The CVSS 3.1 base score is 7.5 (high), reflecting network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impact limited to availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade ImageSharp to version 4.1.2 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigations are indicated or required.
