CVE-2026-106118: CWE-787: Out-of-bounds Write in SixLabors ImageSharp
Description
CVE-2026-106118 is a high-severity vulnerability in SixLabors ImageSharp, a 2D graphics library. Versions from 3.0.0 up to but not including 4.1.1 are affected. The flaw involves an out-of-bounds write during tiled TIFF decoding when the tile width is smaller than the image width, leading to heap corruption and process termination. This occurs because the decompressor uses the full frame width while the destination buffer is allocated based on tile width. The issue is fixed in version 4.1.1.

Technical Analysis
ImageSharp versions >=3.0.0 and <4.1.1 contain a vulnerability in tiled TIFF decoding where the destination buffer is allocated using TileWidth, but decompressors are constructed using the full frame width. This mismatch allows frame-width fax scanlines to be written into a smaller tile-width buffer, causing out-of-bounds writes, heap corruption, and process termination. The vulnerability is distinct from issues in strip decoding and affects the tiled decoding path. It is addressed in version 4.1.1.
Potential Impact
The vulnerability can cause heap corruption and process termination (denial of service) when processing specially crafted tiled TIFF images. There is no indication of confidentiality or integrity impact. The CVSS 3.1 score is 7.5 (high) with an attack vector of network, no privileges required, no user interaction, and impact limited to availability.
Mitigation Recommendations
Upgrade to ImageSharp version 4.1.1 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required.
