CVE-2026-109228: Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling in sgl-project sglang

High
Published: 10/12/2026 (10/12/2026, 15:32:19 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: sgl-project
Product: sglang

Description

SGLang through 0.5.21 contains a resource budget bypass vulnerability that allows remote attackers to override GLM-V video processing limits by supplying fps, max_frames, max_tokens_per_frame and max_image_tokens in the video_url object. Attackers can set these values arbitrarily high so glm4v.py decodes every frame of high-resolution video at full size, exhausting worker memory and denying service.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-109228 describes a resource budget bypass vulnerability in SGLang through version 0.5.21. Remote attackers can override GLM-V video processing limits by supplying arbitrary values for fps, max_frames, max_tokens_per_frame, and max_image_tokens in the video_url object. This causes glm4v.py to decode every frame of high-resolution video at full size, leading to exhaustion of worker memory and denial of service conditions.

Potential Impact

Successful exploitation allows remote attackers to cause denial of service by exhausting worker memory through unbounded video frame decoding. This impacts availability of the affected system.
