Until a fix is available, users should consider disabling the plugin or restricting access to affected pages to trusted users only. Applying web application firewall (WAF) rules to detect and block suspicious input targeting the 'os', 'browser', and 'res' parameters may provide temporary mitigation.

Description

The WP Visitor Statistics (Real Time Traffic) WordPress plugin up to version 8.9.0 contains a stored cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability via the 'os' parameter and related parameters. This flaw allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious scripts that execute when users view the affected pages. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping.
