AI-suggested
Upgrade GeoDirectory to version 2.8.194 or later, where this improper access control vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is indicated.
Description
The GeoDirectory WordPress plugin before 2.8.194 does not correctly verify ownership of listings submitted by logged-out users before allowing them to be edited, allowing unauthenticated attackers to modify, unpublish, attach images to, or reassign any guest-submitted listing when guest posting is enabled.
Impact
Unauthenticated attackers can alter guest-submitted listings, including editing content, unpublishing listings, attaching images, or reassigning ownership. This could lead to misinformation, content tampering, or unauthorized changes to listings on affected websites.
