Published: 10/21/2026 (10/21/2026, 00:36:37 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: grokability
Product: snipe-it

Description

Snipe-IT versions before 8.7.0 have a server-side request forgery (SSRF) vulnerability in the webhook testing feature. This flaw allows super-admin users to send requests to internal network addresses, including loopback and private RFC1918 ranges. By analyzing differences in HTTP response codes (4xx vs 5xx), attackers can map internal network hosts and open ports.

Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-114064 describes an SSRF vulnerability in Snipe-IT prior to version 8.7.0. The vulnerability exists in the webhook testing functionality, which permits super-admin users to direct webhook test requests to internal IP addresses. This enables probing of internal network infrastructure by comparing response codes to identify active hosts and open ports within loopback and RFC1918 address spaces.

Potential Impact

An attacker with super-admin privileges can leverage this vulnerability to perform internal network reconnaissance by mapping hosts and ports that are otherwise inaccessible externally. This may facilitate further attacks against internal systems. However, exploitation requires high privileges (super-admin), limiting the attack surface.

Mitigation Recommendations

Upgrade Snipe-IT to version 8.7.0 or later where this SSRF vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation or temporary workaround is specified. Since this is not a cloud service, remediation depends on applying the official patch.
