Vendor/Project: shopperlabs
Product: shopper

Description

Shopper versions from 2.0.0 up to but not including 2.6.0 have a missing authorization vulnerability. This flaw allows users with only access_dashboard privileges in the admin panel to create new administrator accounts and grant permissions. Attackers can exploit this by directly invoking CreateTeamMember::store() or Permissions::togglePermission() via the /livewire/update endpoint, leading to privilege escalation to full administrator.

Technical Analysis

The vulnerability in shopperlabs' Shopper product affects versions >=2.0.0 and <2.6.0. It is a missing authorization issue where admin-panel users with limited access (access_dashboard) can bypass intended restrictions to create administrator accounts and assign permissions. The exploit involves calling specific backend functions (CreateTeamMember::store() or Permissions::togglePermission()) directly through the /livewire/update endpoint, enabling privilege escalation to full administrator rights.

Potential Impact

An attacker with limited admin-panel access can escalate privileges to full administrator by creating new admin accounts and granting permissions. This compromises the integrity and security of the administrative functions, potentially allowing full control over the affected system.

Mitigation Recommendations

Patch status is not yet confirmed — check the vendor advisory for current remediation guidance.
