Users should restrict LAN access to trusted devices and networks to reduce exposure. Since the vulnerability requires a one-time DLNA pairing, disabling or restricting DLNA functionality on the TV may mitigate risk. Monitor vendor advisories for updates or patches addressing this issue.

Description

Hisense VIDAA Smart TV firmware version 0000.01.00a.P0220 has an input validation vulnerability in its UPnP/DLNA AVTransport SOAP service. This flaw allows a LAN-adjacent attacker to inject arbitrary URIs via the CurrentURI field of the SetAVTransportURI function without proper validation. Exploitation can lead to the TV fetching and rendering attacker-controlled content, such as phishing pages, fake firmware update prompts, or fake emergency alerts, after a one-time DLNA pairing. The vulnerability has a medium severity rating with a CVSS score of 4.8.
