Users should restrict local network access to trusted devices to reduce exposure. Monitor vendor advisories for updates regarding a fix. Since the device becomes unresponsive, physical intervention is required to restore functionality after exploitation.

Description

Hisense VIDAA Smart TV firmware version 0000.01.00a.P0220 contains an unauthenticated denial-of-service vulnerability in the UPnP/DLNA AVTransport SOAP service. An attacker on the local network can send a crafted SetAVTransportURI request to TCP port 38400 to freeze the entire television software layer. This renders the device unresponsive to remote control or front-panel input, requiring a physical power cycle to recover.
