Users should monitor vendor advisories for updates. Until a fix is available, avoid enabling HTML display in the affected widgets or restrict access to dashboards containing these widgets to trusted users only.

Description

CVE-2026-23928 is a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in Zabbix affecting the Item history widget (Zabbix 7.0+) and the Plain text widget (Zabbix 6.0). When HTML display is enabled, these widgets can execute injected JavaScript originating from a monitored host controlled by an attacker. This can lead to unauthorized actions performed under the context of any user viewing the affected dashboard. The Item history widget replaces the Plain text widget starting with Zabbix 7.0.
