Description
CVE-2026-49903 is an elevation of privilege vulnerability in Google Android affecting versions 14, 15, 16, 16-qpr2, and 17. The flaw exists in the ClusterRenderingService.dump() method, which can be accessed by processes with android.permission.DUMP and android.permission.PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS. This method improperly allows attackers to write arbitrary values to Settings.Global.OVERLAY_DISPLAY_DEVICES, an operation normally restricted to those with android.permission.WRITE_SECURE_SETTINGS. Exploiting this enables persistent creation of system overlay displays and injection of key events into the cluster UI.
