Until a fix is available, limiting privileged client access to the EVS HAL may reduce risk.
Description
CVE-2026-58926 is a Use-After-Free vulnerability in the EVS HAL component of Google Android. It allows a privileged client to free a buffer handle while it is still in use by the producer thread, causing a race condition. This can lead to manipulation of freed heap memory and potential leakage of file descriptors from the EVS HAL process. The vulnerability affects Android versions 15, 16, 16-qpr2, and 17.
