Published: 07/11/2026 (07/11/2026, 13:01:03 UTC)
Source: CVE Database V5
Vendor/Project: MervinPraison
Product: PraisonAI

Description

PraisonAI Platform versions prior to 0.1.9 have a missing authorization check on PATCH routes for projects, issues, and agents. Technical Analysis

CVE-2026-61442 describes a missing authorization enforcement in MervinPraison's PraisonAI Platform before version 0.1.9. Specifically, PATCH routes for projects, issues, and agents require only a workspace-member role rather than owner or admin authorization. This flaw enables a workspace member to modify owner-created records, such as reassigning the lead_id of a project to themselves, and subsequently delete the project, circumventing the delete route's owner/admin permission checks.

Potential Impact

An attacker with workspace-member privileges can escalate their permissions by modifying ownership attributes on projects, issues, and agents. This can lead to unauthorized deletion or modification of owner-created records, potentially disrupting project management and data integrity within the affected workspace.

Mitigation Recommendations

A fixed version is available starting from PraisonAI 0.1.9. Users should upgrade to version 0.1.9 or later to ensure proper authorization enforcement on PATCH routes. Since no official patch or workaround is detailed in the advisory, upgrading is the recommended remediation.
