AI-suggested

Organizations should consider discontinuing use of ATutor or isolating affected installations to mitigate risk. Restricting access to the Gameme module and limiting authenticated user permissions may reduce exposure but do not fully mitigate the vulnerability.

Description

ATutor version 2.2.4 contains a vulnerability in its Gameme module that allows authenticated users to upload files of any type without restriction. Uploaded files are stored in a web-accessible location before validation, enabling an attacker with knowledge of a valid course_id (commonly 0) to upload a malicious script. This can lead to remote code execution with the privileges of the web server process. The product is no longer actively supported, and no fixes are available.
