Users should upgrade Apache Wicket to versions 8.20.0, 9.25.0, or 10.12.0 where this issue is fixed. As a workaround, applications can register resources in the shared resources registry and pass ResourceReference instances to components instead of IResource instances. This ensures that resource requests are routed through the authorization handler enforcing isResourceAuthorized().
Description
CVE-2026-82705 is a missing authorization vulnerability in Apache Wicket affecting versions 8.0.0 through 8.19.0, 9.0.0 through 9.24.0, and 10.0.0 through 10.11.0. The flaw arises because resource authorization checks are enforced only when resources are accessed via their own resource URL, but not when served through certain components that use IResource instances directly. This can lead to unauthorized access to restricted resources, such as exported data tables, if the application uses the affected components with IResource instances without proper registration. The issue is fixed in Apache Wicket versions 8.20.0, 9.25.0, and 10.12.0.
