Description

ExifReader versions prior to 4.41.1 contain a vulnerability in parsing HEIC or AVIF ISO-BMFF files where attacker-controlled values can cause excessive memory allocation. This occurs because the parser trusts iloc itemCount and extentCount values without bounding the allocations when certain size fields are zero, leading to potential denial of service by exhausting system memory. The issue is fixed in version 4.41.1.
