Upgrade Pillow to version 12.3.0 or later, where this vulnerability is fixed. No other mitigation is indicated or required.

Description

Pillow versions prior to 12.3.0 contain a vulnerability in the PIL/BdfFontFile.py module where the bdf_char() function reads BBX width and height fields from a BDF font file and passes these attacker-controlled dimensions to Image.new() without invoking the decompression bomb protection check. This allows an attacker to cause excessive memory allocation. The issue is fixed in Pillow version 12.3.0.
