AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated BIND 9 packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related products that fix these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the provided security updates as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (RHSA-2026:24338) to remediate these issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

This security advisory addresses two vulnerabilities in the Berkeley Internet Name Domain (BIND) 9 DNS server implementation used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10. The first vulnerability (CVE-2026-3039) involves memory exhaustion during GSS-API TKEY negotiation, and the second (CVE-2026-5946) is a denial of service via specially crafted DNS messages. Both issues could allow an attacker to disrupt DNS server operations. Red Hat has released updates to fix these vulnerabilities in BIND 9 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related products.
