AI-suggested
Red Hat advises enforcing strict payload length limits and input validation at the application boundary before passing untrusted data to the P-384 VOPRF interface. If immediate code changes are not feasible, deploying an API gateway or reverse proxy to restrict maximum request body sizes is recommended. A security update including fixed RPMs (swift-lang-6.4.2-0.2.hum1 and swift-lang-runtime-6.4.2-0.2.hum1) is available and should be applied to remediate the issue.
Description
A denial of service vulnerability exists in the swift-crypto package's P-384 Verifiable Oblivious Pseudorandom Function (VOPRF) interface. A remote attacker can cause an application utilizing this interface to terminate unexpectedly by sending excessively long or unbounded input. This occurs because the interface does not enforce input length restrictions, leading to resource exhaustion and process termination.
