Currently, no mitigation or fix meeting Red Hat's criteria for ease of use, deployment, applicability, or stability is available. Customers with Red Hat Technical Account Managers can seek direct guidance. No urgent action beyond applying existing updates is indicated.
Description
A denial of service vulnerability exists in the Go encoding/asn1 package used by Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization v4.17. An attacker can supply a specially crafted, deeply nested ASN.1 structure that triggers excessive recursion during unmarshalling, leading to stack exhaustion and service unavailability. This flaw can be exploited remotely without authentication. Red Hat has not provided a fix meeting their criteria for ease of deployment and stability at this time.
