AI-suggested

Red Hat has released an updated bind9.18 package for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6 Extended Update Support that addresses all listed vulnerabilities. Users should apply the update as detailed in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate these security issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patch.

Description

Multiple security vulnerabilities have been identified and fixed in BIND 9.18, the DNS server implementation used in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.6. These include memory exhaustion, denial of service, DNSSEC validation bypass, cache poisoning, assertion failures, and arbitrary code execution issues. The update addresses these issues with security fixes and enhancements, including a new root trust anchor key for DNSSEC.
