Red Hat has released updated nodejs-nodemon packages that fix this vulnerability. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and its variants should apply the security update nodejs-nodemon-3.1.14-2.el10_2 or later as provided in the Red Hat advisory RHSA-2026:48032. Follow the instructions at https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258 to apply the update. No additional mitigation steps are required once the update is applied.
Description
A denial of service vulnerability (CVE-2026-13149) exists in the brace-expansion component used by nodejs-nodemon, a tool that monitors and restarts Node.js applications during development. The flaw is due to exponential-time complexity in brace expansion processing. Red Hat has issued an important security update for nodejs-nodemon in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 to address this issue.
