Red Hat has released security updates for OpenEXR in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 and related products to address these vulnerabilities. Users should apply the updates as described in the Red Hat advisory (https://access.redhat.com/articles/11258) to remediate the issues. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official patches.

Description

Two security vulnerabilities have been identified in OpenEXR, an open-source high-dynamic-range image file format library. CVE-2026-41142 is an integer overflow in image resizing that can lead to arbitrary code execution. CVE-2026-42216 involves malformed EXR files that can cause information disclosure and denial of service. Red Hat has issued an important security advisory and released updates for affected Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10 variants to address these issues.
