Description
A vulnerability exists in the Python standard library tarfile.extractall() function that allows a remote attacker to craft a malicious archive to bypass security filters. This bypass uses a hardlink referencing a symlink to recreate the symlink outside the intended extraction directory, potentially leading to unauthorized file reads or writes. This flaw affects Red Hat AI Base Images 3.4.4 (CPU) as shipped with Red Hat OpenShift AI.
