AI-suggested

Red Hat has released updated Tomcat packages rebased to version 9.0.87 that address these vulnerabilities. Users of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support and related variants should apply the provided security update promptly. Detailed update instructions are available in the Red Hat advisory. No additional mitigation steps are indicated beyond applying the official update.

Description

Red Hat has issued a security advisory for Apache Tomcat addressing two denial-of-service (DoS) vulnerabilities: one related to HTTP/2 header handling (CVE-2024-24549) and another involving WebSocket incomplete closing handshake (CVE-2024-23672). These vulnerabilities could allow an attacker to cause service disruption. The update rebases Tomcat to version 9.0.87, which includes these security fixes and other bug fixes. The advisory applies to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.2 Extended Update Support and related variants.
