AI-suggested

A patch is available in SQLite version 3.53.2 that addresses these vulnerabilities. Users and administrators should upgrade affected SQLite instances to version 3.53.2 or later to remediate the issue.

Description

SQLite versions prior to 3.53.2 contain memory corruption vulnerabilities in the FTS5 full-text search extension. These vulnerabilities allow attackers to cause process crashes, memory exhaustion, or arbitrary code execution by using a crafted database with malformed FTS5 page data. The flaws include an out-of-bounds read in the fts5LeafSeek() function and a heap buffer overflow write in fts5ChunkIterate(), triggered during execution of an FTS5 MATCH query against malicious data. A fix is available in version 3.53.2.
