What to do

AI-suggested

Users should monitor the vendor's advisory for updates and apply any forthcoming patches promptly. Until a fix is available, consider disabling or restricting use of the affected parameter or plugin. Employing web application firewalls (WAFs) that can detect and block reflected XSS attempts may provide temporary mitigation.

Description

The Hubbub Lite WordPress plugin, used for social sharing and follow buttons, is vulnerable to reflected cross-site scripting (XSS) via the 'dpsp_list_attention_search' parameter in all versions up to 1.36.0. This vulnerability arises from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject arbitrary scripts that execute when a user interacts with a crafted link.
