A patch is available and fixed the vulnerability in livereload version 2.7.1_3. Users should upgrade to version 2.7.1_3 or later to remediate this issue. No other mitigation is required as the vulnerability is addressed by the official fix.
Description
CVE-2026-91990 is a medium severity pre-authentication denial of service vulnerability in the multipart form data parsing function of livereload versions >=2.7.1 and <2.7.1_3. The vulnerability arises because the code splits the entire HTTP multipart body into a large list before checking if the number of parts exceeds the configured maximum, causing excessive memory use and amplification. This can be exploited by sending a crafted HTTP request with many multipart parts, leading to transient memory exhaustion and denial of service. The issue is fixed in version 2.7.1_3 by changing the logic to count separators without creating a large list first.
