| High | 8.2 | EPSS 0.6% | CVE-2026-111103mtrudel bandit · Improper Cleanup on Thrown Exception High8.2EPSS 0.6%CVE Database V5CVE-2026-111103 Improper Cleanup on Thrown Exception vulnerability in the HTTP/2 handler of mtrudel bandit allows an unauthenticated remote attacker to bypass per-connection resource limits via a single TCP write that carries several frames, one of which raises a stream error. When a frame raises StreamError partway through a chunk, Bandit.HTTP2.Handler.handle_data/3 sends RST_STREAM and continues with the connection state from before the chunk, dropping the rest of it. Streams opened by earlier frames in the chunk keep running their Plug calls, but the stream counts, last_stream_id, the rapid-reset timestamps, the HPACK decoder state and the buffer roll back, so max_concurrent_streams, max_requests and the rapid-reset limiter never see those streams. A client that sends one HEADERS frame more than max_concurrent_streams in each write has the extra refused and the others forgotten: with a limit of 10, five such writes run 50 Plug calls at once. This issue affects bandit: from 1.9.0 before 1.14.0. | CVE Database V5 | ||

| Medium | 6.8 | Medium6.8GCVE Database FastMCP versions 3.0.0 through 3.4.9 and 4.0.0 through 4.1.1 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability where direct calls to transformed components skip the final authorization check. This allows low-privilege users to invoke protected tools, resources, templates, or prompts that should be denied. The issue arises because the server applies transforms before authorization but does not re-check the authorization on the transformed component in direct lookup paths. On `import netweavex`, the top-level __init__.py loads netweavex.netweavex, whose module scope invokes exec() on a payload produced by reversing a string literal, base64-decoding it, and zlib-decompressing it (the decoded header is a valid zlib stream, `x\xda...`). This causes attacker-controlled, opaque bytecode to run on the installer's host at import time. A graph library has no legitimate reason to layer reverse+base64+zlib obfuscation around an exec() sink; the combination of lookalike name, API cloning, and import-time execution of hidden code is the canonical PyPI typosquat dropper shape. ## Source: kam193 (96ae0ec579e95e33c63930792ee782e6229f77547efac35c3894a7e05c8af2ca) Clone of a legitimated package. | Low | 2.0 | EPSS 0.2% | Low2.0EPSS 0.2%GCVE DatabaseCVE-2026-113715 A vulnerability in virtualenv's venv creator allows attacker-controlled pathnames containing Unicode line boundary characters (e.g., U+2028) to inject additional configuration keys into the pyvenv.cfg file during configuration readback. This can alter environment settings such as the 'home' directory and 'include-system-site-packages', potentially changing which standard library files the interpreter loads and weakening environment isolation. The issue affects virtualenv versions from 2022.9.24 up to but not including 2026.10.1. A fix was introduced in version 2026.10.1 that rejects line-boundary characters before creation and rebuilds the configuration from selected settings. | GCVE Database | ||

| Malicious | – | MaliciousGCVE Database @apexacc/cli is distributed by "Apex Accelerator" (Apex Arena), a fake Web3 accelerator that lures crypto founders with free AI credits and audits. Elastic Security Labs (REF8801, published 2026-10-12) found it is a repackaged Oh My Pi coding agent (1,351 of 1,363 files identical) with malicious additions that hijack the developer's AI coding agent: it overwrites OPENROUTER_BASE_URL so model traffic (prompts, files read, tool results) goes to attacker infrastructure at arena.apexaccs.org; persists an attacker-controlled remote MCP server in ~/.apex/agent/mcp.json; and defaults tool approval to "yolo". A bootstrap retrieves commands from vrf.apexaccs.org: on macOS it drops CloudSyncD (fake password prompt, credential theft, C2 ccmihr.com); on Windows a staged loader chain ends in an infostealer that exfiltrates browser credentials, wallets, messengers, VPN clients and Claude/Cursor/Windsurf configs over Telegram. Elastic analyzed version 1.6.1 and traced the bootstrap to the earliest preserved version (script host arenapex.cloud). The package was still live on npm (latest 1.6.2) with no OSV record as of 2026-10-16. Independently confirmed by static inspection of the live 1.6.2 npm tarball (sha256 7ca5e3908dd8721d0cf6af2488f0825c0d91a5e0b7c8529ef830141a4a3ba31f) on 2026-10-16, without execution: the bin launcher apex.cjs (sha256 4029192a44ee738deba9aa53b57550075cb8fd170a63f0636dea5452256f2175) runs when the user invokes the CLI (no install script). On Windows it sets the current user's PowerShell execution policy to RemoteSigned (no elevation needed), and on Windows 11 it launches a hidden, elevated (UAC RunAs) PowerShell that attempts to add a Defender exclusion for ~/.apex and to set HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Policy VerifiedAndReputablePolicyState=0 (disabling Smart App Control). From 1.5.122 (2026-09-17) through 1.6.2 those two commands are built in a JavaScript template literal with single backslashes, so the shipped paths are mangled (the exclusion lands on a sibling path '<home>.apex' and the registry key is invalid) and both likely fail; the UAC prompt still appears. Versions 1.5.120 (registry change) and 1.5.121 (adds the Defender exclusion), both 2026-09-17, carried correctly escaped versions of these commands without an elevation prompt, effective only when already running as administrator. The execution-policy change first appears in 1.6.2. It then downloads a ~114MB native binary from GitHub releases of apexaccs/copilot into ~/.apex/bin, and on macOS an additional apex-verify-darwin helper. Both GitHub repositories referenced by the package versions (apexaccs/copilot, Apex-Accelerator/apexcli) return 404 as of 2026-10-16. All versions affected. Indicators from Elastic's report. --- _-= Per source details. The elevated payload (a) calls Add-MpPreference -ExclusionPath on %USERPROFILE%\.apex to whitelist the package directory in Windows Defender, and (b) writes HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CI\Policy VerifiedAndReputablePolicyState=0 via reg add, disabling Smart App Control / Code Integrity enforcement machine-wide. The elevation path uses underscore-prefixed identifiers (_ps, _enc, _sp, _osv, _isWin11, _home), a hidden window, base64 command encoding, and a broad try/catch that silently swallows errors. After weakening the host, the CLI downloads a ~105MB apex-<platform>.exe (and an optional native.node addon) from the publisher's GitHub Releases with no hash or signature verification, chmods 0755, and executes it via spawnSync with inherited stdio and the full process.env. The security-policy downgrade is not consistent with any documented function of an AI CLI and converts an otherwise routine publisher-pinned binary fetch into execution of unverified code under a machine-wide-weakened Windows security posture. | GCVE Database | |||
| Malicious | – | MaliciousGCVE Database util-foriepft@1.0.0 was published to npm on 2026-10-08 17:34 UTC by user regex33-hackerone. It is described as utility helpers but ships no library code: index.js is an empty module. thunderboltRegistry.js runs when the package is loaded, executes host commands through child_process and sends their output to a remote collector at dxpoc[.]gt[.]tc, and registry-manifest.min.json names Wix-internal modules (dependency confusion). Apart from the collector URL, thunderboltRegistry.js is byte-identical to the payload of css-overscroll-contain@1.0.1 (MAL-2026-17705), published from the same account. The package was still available on 2026-10-11. --- _-= Per source details. The flagged file combines process spawning of system-info commands with an outbound HTTPS request carrying the collected identifiers, matching the shape of a reconnaissance beacon rather than any documented utility behavior. The package name does not describe this functionality, and the module has no legitimate utility purpose that would require collecting and transmitting system identifiers off-host. ## Source: ghsa-malware (7783f52b25db6868f9cf0d1f2bf1add038bb62b4c34bb57b0b7977cf2d2feebc) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. | Malicious | – | MaliciousGCVE Database @walknpm/todo-cli@2.0.1 is a new release of a todo-list CLI and web app whose only change from 2.0.0 is a postinstall script, `sh scripts/miner.sh`, that runs on npm install. The script downloads a gzip carrier from amplify-gursha-dev-121835-deployment.s3.amazonaws.com to /tmp/.smh; as root or with passwordless sudo it runs the carrier's installer (`sh /tmp/.smi agent`), which installs an XMRig miner plus two helper daemons under random system-component names and persists them as systemd units or @reboot cron entries, and otherwise it extracts the bundled XMRig binary to ~/.local/lib/<random name>/ and mines Monero to networkservicesupp.flashhub.net:8443 over TLS with a hardcoded wallet. If root or passwordless sudo is available, the script runs `sh /tmp/.smi agent` to install a persistent agent (cron/relay/tor per in-script comments). Otherwise, it extracts an embedded XMRig binary (base64/tar.gz blob after a `__PAYLOAD__` marker), writes a Monero pool configuration to `$HOME/.sysmond.json` pointing at networkservicesupp.flashhub.net:8443 with wallet 49u1mKb1dNoMixgRHt11Ra32D1w4hviUuRDbaJhXFwXUjQP4FiHsSjnDa7XZepDUW1Tx6HhR6gFwWgbuwNxby4UAMiqxieX, copies the miner to `$HOME/.local/lib/<stealth-name>/<stealth-name>` using a system-daemon-like name pool (`edid-mon`, `smmon`, `irqstatsd`,...), and backgrounds it with `nohup`. Installing the package results in unconditional remote code execution on the installer's host, cryptomining compute/electricity theft, and persistence that is non-trivial to detect and remove. ## Source: ghsa-malware (4b1b865efcc7d2ea28c5ad7580b823a36d22c88bc165f9c57a2f42b3accc4d88) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised. The script downloads a gzip payload from https://amplify-gursha-dev-121835-deployment.s3.amazonaws.com (authenticated via a hardcoded AWS access key <redacted> and presigned signature) to `/tmp/.smh`, decompresses it to `/tmp/.smi`, and executes it. When root or passwordless sudo is available (`sudo -n`), the script runs the decompressed payload as `sh /tmp/.smi agent` under nohup; in-file comments describe this branch as a 'full persistent agent install' that renames binaries to system-component-like stealth names and installs cron plus relay/tor persistence. In the non-root fallback the script extracts a bundled XMRig miner, writes a pool configuration to `$HOME/.sysmond.json` targeting networkservicesupp.flashhub.net:8443, stages the miner under `$HOME/.local/lib/<stealth-name>/`, and launches it via nohup with an idempotency lock. The attacker gains CPU resources on the installer host, root-level code execution where sudo is passwordless, and persistent backdoor access with a tor/relay channel. ## Source: ghsa-malware (de8aa280aeabc3f7fd50e0f22f8b02fd5ae1d61e36e9c3321620853e08e8570a) Any computer that has this package installed or running should be considered fully compromised.
