Between May and September 2026, a Russian-speaking threat actor targeted Ukraine's state data-exchange infrastructure by exploiting Log4Shell vulnerabilities in Graylog servers. The attacker scanned millions of Ukrainian IP addresses to identify systems running UXP Verifier, a component of the national data-exchange platform. Using a two-stage CommonsBeanutils2 deserialization exploit delivered via Graylog's sessions API, the attacker gained access to at least two organizations, including a logging server containing millions of documents. The operation was exposed when the attacker accidentally served their working directory over HTTP, revealing tools and logs. Although the attacker queried transaction indices and showed knowledge of the system schema, no direct data exfiltration was observed. The campaign also involved failed exploitation attempts of other vulnerabilities.
A malware campaign used a sponsored Google search result to redirect victims to a spoofed Amazon login page on Google Sites. The page displayed a fake CAPTCHA (ClickFix) that tricked users into running a malicious command via the Windows finger utility, initiating a multi-stage infection. Payloads included IronPython, obfuscated Python scripts, Doina malware, Lumma Stealer via a Node.js package, and a pirated NetSupport Client RMM tool. The campaign used barbecue-themed domains for command and control and had alternate payloads for macOS. Attackers employed advanced obfuscation techniques such as Base64 with Cyrillic substitution, XOR, and RC4 encryption.
The threat actor k0t is conducting a large-scale campaign targeting network edge devices from FortiGate, FortiWeb, and Palo Alto GlobalProtect. The campaign exploits known vulnerabilities CVE-2025-64446 and CVE-2026-0257, combined with brute-force attacks, to harvest over 70,000 credentials globally. Post-compromise activities include credential theft, Active Directory enumeration, and data exfiltration using Rclone to cloud storage. Persistence is maintained through tools such as MeshCentral, AdaptixC2, and remote management software like Atera and AnyDesk. The campaign overlaps with ransomware groups Qilin and The Gentlemen, suggesting k0t may act as an Initial Access Broker, though no direct affiliation is confirmed.
Researchers uncovered an AI-driven intrusion ecosystem operated by affiliates of INC and The Gentlemen ransomware groups via seven exposed command-and-control servers. The operators integrated commercial AI models, exploited edge devices at scale, and compromised thousands of targets, primarily in the US industrial manufacturing and healthcare sectors. The infrastructure included multiple custom encryptor builds and evidence of active victim encryption. Operational security failures exposed source code, credentials, AI session logs, and victim data. The campaign demonstrates advanced ransomware-as-a-service operations leveraging AI and custom tooling.
Amazon Threat Intelligence detected exploitation attempts of the PHP2Shell vulnerability in MadPot honeypot telemetry on October 17, 2026, four days before the public disclosure of CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619. The initial exploit originated from a commercial anonymization network, indicating threat actor activity during the embargo period. Multiple proof-of-concept exploits appeared on the disclosure date with diverse payloads and infrastructure, suggesting involvement of multiple actors. After the embargo lifted on October 21, 2026, exploitation rapidly became widespread. This incident demonstrates that coordinated vulnerability disclosure does not guarantee zero-day protection and that AI-assisted exploit development has significantly reduced the time from patch release to active exploitation.
A suspected Chinese-speaking threat actor linked to Red Heron conducted extensive exploitation campaigns from May to September 2026. The attacker exploited multiple vulnerabilities in WordPress (CVE-2026-63030, CVE-2026-60137) to breach a western government organization, stealing over 18,000 sensitive records including credentials and personally identifiable information. Additionally, the actor exploited CVE-2026-7273 in ZyXEL GS1900 switches, compromising 996 devices across 48 countries and exfiltrating configurations and credentials. The adversary demonstrated sophisticated capabilities such as custom tool development possibly using large language models, privilege escalation, and systematic data exfiltration via PowerShell-based techniques.

ANAT (AI Network Anomaly Tracker) is an open-source, lightweight Intrusion Detection System (IDS) designed for real-time network traffic monitoring and anomaly detection. It captures packets, detects suspicious activities such as port scans, floods, and large packets, and visualizes alerts through a cyberpunk-themed dashboard. The tool supports alert logging, filtering, trusted source suppression, and integration with Discord for alert notifications. It is intended for educational and authorized security testing purposes only and requires elevated privileges for packet capture.
A threat actor exploited a path traversal vulnerability (CVE-2025-4632) in Samsung MagicINFO 9 Server to gain unauthorized access to endpoints. They deployed a rogue AnyDesk remote access tool, created a local administrator account, and disabled Microsoft Defender protections. Instead of deploying a pre-compiled cryptominer, the actor compiled a Monero cryptominer directly on the compromised endpoint using multiple compilers and utilities. The miner connected to the C3Pool mining service and ran under explorer.exe with suspicious arguments. This on-endpoint compilation generated significant endpoint detection and response (EDR) telemetry, increasing detectability despite attempts at stealth.

Python has added a denylist for known compromised certificates to the "ssl" module to ensure user safety even without certificate revocation configured. Known compromised certificates will automatically be rejected regardless of the SSLContext policy configuration.
Postiz-app versions from 2.15.0 up to but not including 2.25.3 have a critical vulnerability (CVE-2026-115933) where session, invitation, and password reset tokens are signed with a single shared secret without distinguishing token types. This flaw allows an attacker with limited privileges to craft tokens with arbitrary claims that the application accepts as valid sessions, invitations with chosen roles, password resets, or provisioning tokens. The vulnerability stems from improper authentication design (CWE-290) and insecure token handling.

Web::Simple versions before 0.035 for Perl allocate a buffer sized by the Content-Length header for urlencoded body parameters.
Web::Dispatch::ParamParser::get_unpacked_body_from reads an application/x-www-form-urlencoded body using a single read call, with no cap and the return value ignored. Perl's read grows the buffer to the requested length before reading, so the declared Content-Length determines the allocation.
An attacker can trigger this through any route whose dispatch specification has a % body-parameter match, such as sub (POST + %name=), sending a Content-Length far larger than the body actually sent. No authentication is involved.
