Authlib versions up to and including 1.7.2 contain a signature-verification bypass vulnerability in their JSON Web Signature (JWS) handling. The vulnerability allows attackers to supply JWS objects with an empty "signatures" array, which Authlib mistakenly treats as verified without performing signature checks. This enables attackers to forge arbitrary authenticated payloads without possessing any signing keys, potentially leading to authentication bypass, privilege escalation, and message integrity compromise. No official patch is currently available, and users should monitor the project's GitHub repository for updates.
Network UPS Tools is a collection of programs which provide a common interface for monitoring and administering UPS, PDU and SCD hardware. Prior to commits 658b24e and 1aa31d1, the GitHub Actions script used to prepare NUT tarballs and update GitHub Checks statuses and PR comments about it was mis-structured in terms of mixing code running with higher privileges (single-use token generated with write permissions) and untrusted inputs (PR source branch). A malicious PR run from a fork could extract the GITHUB_TOKEN value. It could potentially be abused while it was valid (while the GHA job ran) to manipulate Git repository contents, commit checks/statuses, or issue/PR comments, according to permissions it was issued with. This issue has been patched via commits 658b24e and 1aa31d1.
CVE-2026-18825 is a medium severity vulnerability in the connect-cors npm package maintained by github.com/antono. It involves an origin validation error in the middleware that allows attackers to bypass origin verification and perform cross-domain authenticated requests. The affected versions are from 0 up to and including 0.5.6. No patch or fix information is provided in the available data.
CVE-2026-100746 is a medium severity vulnerability in coollabsio Coolify up to version 4.1.0. It affects the GitHub App Setup Handler component, specifically the Github::redirect function in the /webhooks/source/github/redirect file. The vulnerability arises from manipulation of the 'state' argument, leading to missing authentication. This flaw can be exploited remotely. An exploit has been publicly disclosed. Upgrading to version 4.1.1 addresses this issue.
An investigation reveals that placeholder domains commonly used in documentation are serving malicious content through advertising chains. Two domains, yoursite[.]com and your-domain[.]com, present in hundreds of thousands of GitHub files and agent skills, use cloaking techniques to display scams specifically to macOS visitors while showing legitimate parking pages to others. The scams include fake MacOS Security Center warnings and counterfeit news articles promoting investment schemes. These attacks leverage affiliate fraud models, funneling victims through multiple redirectors to genuine services like McAfee subscriptions to earn commissions. Static security checks fail to detect these threats because malicious redirects occur after JavaScript execution. This follows an earlier disclosure about third-party[.]com serving ClickFix lures. The widespread citation of unregistered placeholder domains in documentation creates significant exposure, particularly for AI agents that fetch and act on this content.
Two third-party GitHub Actions previously compromised in a Mini Shai-Hulud campaign were re-enabled by their maintainer and remained accessible for more than a week despite still pointing to malicious code. [...]
An undocumented remote-access Trojan named Kothamine Agent has been discovered with support for over 30 commands, enabling attackers to control infected Windows systems through command execution, file manipulation, and capability extension. Some variants include browser data theft and camera/microphone recording functionality. The malware has been distributed through malicious npm packages and utilizes tailcat, an open-source Tailscale tool, to establish encrypted command-and-control communications that evade conventional network inspection and blocking. Earlier versions employed Tailscale VPN before transitioning to tailcat. Active since July based on VirusTotal and GitHub evidence, Kothamine features a plugin system for loading additional DLLs, UAC bypass capabilities in certain builds, and employs AES-GCM encryption for C2 communications. The malware achieves persistence through scheduled tasks and adds Windows Defender exclusions during installation.
Actual is a local-first personal finance tool. Prior to 26.7.0, Actual Sync Server's CORS proxy is intended to let authenticated users fetch resources only from repositories listed in the official plugin allowlist. When `ACTUAL_GITHUB_TOKEN` is configured, the proxy automatically attaches the server's GitHub token to GitHub requests. The GitHub API allowlist check uses a raw `startsWith()` prefix test for `/repos/{owner}/{repo}` without requiring a path boundary after the repository name. If an allowlisted public plugin repository is `https://github.com/acme/plugin`, the proxy also accepts GitHub API URLs. Those URLs are outside the allowlisted repository but still pass because their API path starts with `/repos/acme/plugin`. The proxy then forwards the request with the server's `ACTUAL_GITHUB_TOKEN`, allowing any authenticated Actual user to read private GitHub resources reachable by that token. Version 26.7.0 fixes the issue.
FriendsOfFlarum OAuth allows users to log in to Flarum with GitHub, Twitter, Facebook, and other providers. Prior to 1.7.4 and 2.0.0-beta.4, the Discord OAuth provider does not check the verified field returned for an OAuth email before passing the address to Flarum core as trusted through provideTrustedEmail(). When Discord sign-in is enabled, an unauthenticated attacker who knows the email address of a Flarum user can configure a Discord account with that unverified address and a verified phone number, then sign in to cause Flarum to match the trusted address, link the attacker-controlled Discord identity to the existing user, and authenticate as the victim without a password or victim interaction. Exploitation requires that the victim's email address is not already associated with a Discord account, and it can compromise administrator accounts. Other bundled providers were not confirmed to be practically exploitable by this method because their relevant authentication flows return only verified or confirmed email addresses. This issue is fixed in versions 1.7.4 and 2.0.0-beta.4.
MinIO through 7aac2a2 does not verify that every x-amz-* header present on a request also appears in the client-supplied X-Amz-SignedHeaders list. extractSignedHeaders() in cmd/signature-v4-utils.go iterates only the claimed list and never enumerates the headers that actually arrived, and thus a header that arrives unsigned is neither hashed into the canonical request nor rejected. Because cmd/api-router.go dispatches CopyObject on the presence of x-amz-copy-source alone, the holder of a presigned PUT URL scoped to a single object can add that header to the unmodified URL and cause a server-side copy, executed as the signer, of any object the signing key can read. A grant to write one object becomes a read of every bucket that key can reach. Amazon S3 rejects the equivalent request with HTTP 403 AccessDenied. The minio/minio GitHub repository was archived in April 2026; pgsty/silo before 1233254 is also affected.
North Korea-linked threat actors, identified as Opal Sleet, are conducting Operation Conflict Compass targeting Ukrainian diplomatic entities, think tanks, and NGOs. The campaign uses spear-phishing emails with malicious ZIP attachments containing LNK files disguised as PDFs themed around Russia-Ukraine peace plans and geopolitical issues. Execution of these LNK files downloads VBScript from GitHub, which establishes persistence via scheduled tasks and deploys VelvetCake, a PowerShell-based task runner. VelvetCake connects to command-and-control servers to download and execute scripts that perform reconnaissance, collect system information, enumerate security software, and capture screenshots. The campaign also uses trojanized Zoom installers and infrastructure in South Korea and Ukraine. Activity has been observed since early August 2026.

The npm package 'turbo-ws' version 1.0.0 includes a malicious dependency fetched directly from an unrelated GitHub repository without integrity checks. This dependency executes code during installation, potentially compromising any system that installs the package. The package falsely advertises having zero dependencies, misleading users. Systems with this package installed should be considered fully compromised, and all secrets and keys on those systems should be rotated immediately. Removal of the package does not guarantee full remediation due to possible persistent malicious control.
A malicious NPM package named indexed-btree, impersonating the legitimate sorted-btree package, was discovered to contain hidden malware in its JavaScript prototype method. This supply chain attack accumulated over 2 million weekly downloads by creating a credible GitHub repository and avoiding typical detection methods. The malware collects system information, communicates with a hardcoded Slack channel and Telegram chat, and uses a blockchain smart contract for command-and-control. Multiple related malicious packages have also been identified and removed after millions of downloads. The campaign is ongoing and represents a sophisticated threat to organizations using the NPM ecosystem.
A sophisticated six-month campaign targeting quantitative and DeFi developers through malicious npm packages disguised as legitimate mathematics libraries. The operation employs encrypted loaders that trigger only when specific cryptographic operations are performed, specifically when solving linear equations with predetermined matrices. Command and control infrastructure uses Ethereum Sepolia testnet smart contracts as dead drops, alongside a secondary Slack channel, enabling encrypted tasking of compromised systems. The threat actors manufactured millions of fake downloads using GitHub Actions workers to establish false credibility. Fourteen smart contracts were deployed across five operator wallets, managing over 1,000 encrypted taskings to enrolled victims. The campaign demonstrates advanced operational security with disposable accounts, encrypted payloads sealed under ephemeral keys, and infection markers hidden in license files.
draw.io is a configurable diagramming and whiteboarding application. Prior to version 30.2.7, the OAuth callback handler in src/main/java/com/mxgraph/online/AbsAuth.java skips comparison of stateToken and cookieToken whenever IS_GAE is false, which affects self-hosted Docker and WAR deployments. An attacker can provide an authorization code for the attacker's cloud-storage identity and induce a victim to visit a callback URL, causing the victim's draw.io session to become authenticated as the attacker identity without a valid state binding. The shared handler affects Google Drive, OneDrive, GitHub, GitLab, and Dropbox integrations. The victim can then unknowingly perform cloud-storage actions under the attacker's identity, causing session integrity loss and misattribution, but the identity binding does not itself grant access to existing victim cloud files. This issue is fixed in version 30.2.7.
Feast is the open source feature store for AI and machine learning. Prior to 0.65.0, .github/workflows/pr_integration_tests.yml uses pull_request_target with the synchronize event and preserves ok-to-test, approved, or lgtm labels across newly pushed commits, allowing a fork contributor to obtain approval for a benign revision and then run changed code from refs/pull/${{ github.event.pull_request.number }}/merge through privileged make targets. The job exposes GCP, AWS, and Snowflake credentials to that code, enabling runner code execution, credential disclosure, and possible access to downstream cloud resources. An external label-removal integration could mitigate the condition, but no repository workflow provided that protection. This issue is fixed in version 0.65.0.
A widespread campaign impersonates LastPass and at least 40 other companies to distribute a kernel-level malware called Rapuncel via fake installers hosted on GitHub. The malware disables 145 security products by loading a malicious kernel driver and steals sensitive information including passwords, cryptocurrency wallets, and tokens from multiple applications. The campaign uses SEO manipulation and dynamic redirect chains to lure victims. Rapuncel installs as a persistent Windows service, continuously killing security tools and stealing data until the kernel driver is physically removed.
