Copycat hits another npm package 0 A Shai-Hulud copycat worm has infected the npm package chalk-tempalte, appearing just five days after the original worm was open-sourced by its creators. The same threat actor also published three additional malicious npm packages containing infostealer code: @deadcode09284814/axios-util, axois-utils, and color-style-utils. These packages collectively received 2,678 weekly downloads and contain various malicious capabilities including credential theft, cryptocurrency wallet exfiltration, cloud configuration harvesting, and DDoS botnet functionality. The malware exfiltrates stolen data to remote command-and-control servers and uploads credentials to GitHub repositories. Researchers indicate the attacker operates from a home computer or local server farm and appears financially motivated, targeting victims' cryptocurrency assets while potentially offering DDoS-as-a-service capabilities. Needle: Inside a Modular Crypto-Stealing C2 That Left Its Keys in the Malware 0 A modular Malware-as-a-Service crypto-stealing platform called Needle has been discovered actively targeting cryptocurrency wallets through two main attack vectors: a browser extension spoofer targeting MetaMask, Phantom, and Trust Wallet, and a Rust-based desktop agent impersonating Exodus, Trezor, and Ledger applications. The campaign compromised 1,932 victims, including 111 browser extension users and 1,821 desktop sessions. The Rust agent embedded its C2 API key without protection, enabling complete enumeration of victims and withdrawal configurations across six blockchains. The operator's EVM hot wallet moved approximately $148 in ETH to cold storage. The panel's React SPA performed authentication entirely client-side, and the same credential used by infected machines could potentially redirect future auto-withdrawals. Infrastructure is hosted on ASN 202412, a known bulletproof hosting provider in Amsterdam. Join the discussion | AlienVault OTX General | 05/11/2026, 08:50:01 UTC Added: 05/11/2026, 10:06:23 UTC |
REFUNDEE: Inside a Shadow Panel Phishing-as-a-Service Operation 0 An open directory discovery at refundonex[.]com exposed a complete Phishing-as-a-Service and RAT-as-a-Service platform targeting Spanish and Portuguese-speaking victims. The investigation uncovered 3,788 files including weaponized LNK, VBS, and AES-encrypted PowerShell payloads delivering a remote access trojan. The platform, called Shadow Panel, operates from Bulgarian infrastructure and offers capabilities including remote shell execution, screenshot capture, file management, browser credential theft, clipboard hijacking for cryptocurrency wallets, and multi-operator support. The C2 panel's frontend JavaScript was publicly accessible, revealing 29 API endpoints and the complete architecture. Infrastructure analysis linked the operation to nikola4010@proton[.]me through WHOIS data and historical malicious domain associations dating back to 2021, indicating a long-running cybercriminal operation with minimal detection coverage.
