CVE-2026-54891: CWE-924 Improper Enforcement of Message Integrity During Transmission in a Communication Channel in Erlang OTPCVE-2026-54891 0 CVE-2026-54891 is a vulnerability in Erlang/OTP's ssl module (tls_gen_connection) where message integrity during TLS transmission is improperly enforced. Specifically, the client endpoint does not reject APPLICATION_DATA records during the handshake, allowing a network attacker to inject unauthenticated plaintext that the client later treats as authenticated. The attacker cannot observe or control the connection, limiting impact to blind injection of data. The issue affects OTP versions from 17.0 up to before 29.0.3, including certain patch versions, and impacts TLS 1.3 starting with OTP 22.0.
